We can only hope they do this on the BlackDiamondSkye Tour. Great way to launch a great new album. These guys really have their shit together.

…actually that’d be a great tour. Mastodon plays Crack The Skye, AIC Black Gives Way to Blue and Deftones Diamond Eyes. A triple album tour!

Nothing short of Awesome if all three albums are done. Curious to see how high the ticket price for this show will be. AIC played in Louisville and it was like $55 for just them alone.

@sickboy. I would be PISSED if AIC only played new shit, and Mastodon only played Crack the Skye, as for the Deftones I wouldn’t mind hearing just Diamond Eyes, I’ve seen the Deftones a million times over the last 13 years, and I’ve heard every song a million times except for Diamond Eyes stuff..

Since, according to the time and date of this post, (04.05.10 @ 11:25) pm) this hasn’t even happened until later. Now that’s some amazing shit.

It’s great to hear a band sound exactly like their recording, or better, when they play it in it’s entirety live, unlike a lot of bands out right now that hide behind pro tools and studio magic. This album is really such an incredible journey, it’s even more interesting to hear it live. Deftones should change their name to Eargasm.

deftones are still great, but what there missing is “chi” its never gonna be the “deftones” again without him…its like they lost a leg but there still trying to walk normally and pretend nothing happened…hope to god he has a full recovery, not looking good though : (

    • i was there and it was incredible. they played a smorgasbord of songs from diamond eyes, white pony, around the fur, adrenaline, and the self-titled. i was somewhat annoyed they didn’t play anything off Saturday Night Wrist (which is my favorite), but it was still one of the best shows i’ve ever seen. it’s not everyday you see a band like this at a small venue like Trees! got to meet the entire band afterward, and got my Diamond Eyes album signed! really cool guys. can’t wait to hear Eros, and can’t wait to see them on the blackdiamondskye tour.

They got off to kind of a rocky start but by the time they hit “You’ve seen the Butcher” they were firing on all cylinders. Sergio did it up nice on the bass. Remember seeing Sergio fill in for them back in like 99 on the PanterA tour when Chi left to be w/ his wife while she was delivering their baby. He killed it then & he kills it now. QUICKSAND COVER, PLEASE!!
