Killswitch Engage Joined By Original Frontman In New York, Photos And Video Available Online (Updated)

As was heavily rumored, Killswitch Engage were joined by original frontman Jesse Leach at last nights (March 18th) performance at the Fillmore in New York City, NY. Photos and a recap of the set, which saw Leach join the band for a number of songs, including “My Last Serenade“, “Numbered Days“, “Temple from The Within” and more, can be found here.

Meanwhile initial fan-filmed live footage of the performance can be found below with more to be posted later today.

Killswitch Engage have been touring recently with All That Remains frontman Phil Labonte temporarily filling in for Howard Jones, who stepped down from the band to tend to personal matters. While a variety of speculation has surfaced in Jones‘ absence, the band themselves have remained relatively silent on the matter.

I haven’t liked their music since Leach left, so I would be all for a reunion. There’s nothing really wrong with Howard…I just don’t like his vocals for some reason.

Speaking of Leach, Seemless was solid, but I didn’t like The Empire Shall Fall very much. Alive or Just Breathing is still the best album out of everything mentioned.

    • Wish the sound quality was better on the video, but either way that’s freaking epic. Wish I was there.

      Jesse’s got a bit of a potbelly too. :D

    • Very epic seeing Jesse on stage with KSE again. I’ll keep wishing for the reunion. KSE need him back, even though The Empire Shall Fall is one of my new favorites… being in both would be sweet

I was at the show on Friday night. It was pretty epic. Quite excellent. Jesse is great and one hell of a nice guy also. I’m a bit partial to Seemless for many reasons, but the first KSE is awesome!

    • I’m sensing some divine intervention here, like it was meant to be :) I would fully embrace a “back-to-the-roots” album if Jesse sticks around. That way, if the last album was their “Supercharger,” perhaps the next one could be their “Through The Ashes…”

    • This reminds me of the time when original singer Scott joined CBK on stage for a few songs at the Toronto show in 2009 (I think).

It was epic for all hardcore CBK fans.

I didnt like the new vocals of howard either, he sounds too…..goddy? like almost reminds me he’s tryin to sing on a broadway musical or something, maybe opera? i dunno it jus doesnt sounds good to me with that kind of music…eh, they need to scream more >:-)
