New Deftones Single “Diamond Eyes” Available For Streaming Online (Updated)
Deftones‘ new single “Diamond Eyes” has surfaced online and can be heard below. The song is the title track to the bands new album, which is due in stores through Warner on May 18th. A digital single for the aforementioned track was originally scheduled to be released yesterday, March 15th, but seems to have been met with a delay through certain digital outlets. Meanwhile, the song itself will impact at radio on March 30th.

After about 10 solid listens, I have to agree. This could be the best Deftones record to date. I don’t say this lightly either, because they have always been one of my favorite artists of all time. Every song has it’s own unique soul, and although it’s very groove orientated, it seems like Chino is able to capture the heart of every track with truly compelling vocals. I think the album is capable of being relevant to loads of new fans, the youth of today are either obsessed with synth pop emo, or metalcore, and this is something completely different than anything out there. I feel it will open the door to some new fans, and god knows we need this generation listening to some actual ‘good’ music.

BTW deftones are my fav band of all time and have been for many many years, so saying that Diamond Eyes is there best album, didnt come lightly from me either. but i truly believe it is their best album to date! The greatest band on Earth have returned!
it really is true how unreal this album is…they’ve been my favorite band since i first heard them, i’m literally obsessed and have always been. I haven’t been able to stop listening to diamond eyes, its impossible. This makes almost every other metal band an embarrassment to music.
100% their best album. steph once again a genius songwriter. chino finally coming through with a recording where you can clearly hear the lyrics instead of the mummbles on the last few records (still F*&^in GREAT though). im gonna have to say right now that this is going to be one of the best albums of 2010 EASY! seriously just make a cd with Deftones – Diamond Eyes followed by Hopesfall – Magnetic North and straight jizz yourself…

i’d like to explain my take on this record the best i can… in one word: in[fucking]cendiary!
i’ve probably listened to it thirty times already and i can’t wait to get my physical copy in the mail. it’s kind of like the way i felt when i walked down to the only record store we had in town, at the time, to pick up nine inch nail’s ‘the fragile’, the first day it came out. on a side note – i never really understood why people didn’t much care for saturday night wrist. i know i certainly liked it – but diamond eyes… jesus titfuck… i can’t wait for them to tour through new york!

@chiron “the fragile” release was a big day, had some party favors, listened to the album, still my favorite NIN effort, that “The Downward Spiral” and “The Slip”. “Diamond Eyes” IS the best Deftones, ever, hands down.
