Suffokate have once again been faced by member departures though this time it isn’t their singer. Both band guitarist Jason Graff and bassist Ivan Munguia have exited the band, forcing the group to head home from their current tour early. They released the following statement on the matter:
“We unfortunately have to announce that we are officially dropping off the remaining dates of the “murder without motive tour“. Our guitarist jason graff and bass player ivan munguia informed us 2 days ago that they have decided to leave the band and that they would not finish the remaining tour dates. We apologize to all our fans, the promoters, booking agents, as well as the bands on the tour package ( Abiotic, As They Sleep) .
The remaining band members did want to finish the tour, and made our best attempt at making that happen but were unable to track down a van, trailer, guitarist, and bass player with such short notice. This does not mean the band will be breaking up, our vocalist john , lead guitarist miguel, and drummer Lars are all here to stay. On that note if you are a bass or guitar player, preferably with tour experience, and are interested in auditioning please message us… Thanks”
Munguia in particular had only just joined the band this past spring, having come into the fold around the same time as the groups fifth vocalist over the years, John Olivia.
