A Savannah, GA-area promoter by the name of Floyd Lionel has incurred the wrath of numerous bands and fans after having allegedly skipped out on paying a number of bands at the recent ‘Savannah Metal-Punx Birthday Bash‘ show this past weekend.

Of the artists on the bill who didn’t receive payment for their sets were Eyehategod, Ringworm, Enabler and more. Members of the aforementioned bands have expressed their frustration with the situation, going so far as to give out Lionel‘s personal contact information. Lionel for his part released the following explanation:

“First apologies all around for Saturday not making excuses but I suffer from Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD) what you witnessed Saturday night was a person having a full blown mental breakdown due to a lot of undue stress from what was already a very long and stressful day, My departure was not based upon any attempt to avoid responsibilities or as some corners have said ‘run off with band money.’ But to prevent a situation that could have quite easily deteriorated into a far worse harmful situation for myself and others around me. Again apologies to all whom were directly adversely affected by my breakdown.”

According to a report over at dosavannah.com, at least one of the bands originally stiffed by Lionel has since been paid. It is unknown if the rest of the acts have also been properly compensated.

Update – June 23rd 12:00pm:

Ringworm have since confirmed that they have now been paid by the promoter.
