Gwar‘s Oderus Urungus/Dave Brockie spilled the beans regarding the identity of the bands new “scumdog”. Cannabis Corpse/Antietam 1862 guitarist Brent Purgason will be taking over the spot previously held by late guitarist Cory Smoot (aka Flattus Maximus).
Purgason will apparently be known as “Pustulous Maximus” in the outfit. You can hear Brockie reveal the news in this interview at around 34:20 in. Pustulous Maximus will make his live debut with the band on their upcoming “Fate Or Chaos Tour” with DevilDriver, Cancer Bats and more.
In addition to that, Brockie confirmed that they have enlisted numerous guitarists to guest on their forthcoming new album. The artists will be appearing as in tribute to Smoot. More details on the new album remain pending with the band having been hard at work on it in recent months.
