Haywire‘s attempt to shoot a guerilla music video at Times Square in New York City today, October 28th came to an abrupt end at the hands of the NYPD. The Boston hardcore punk band put out a last-minute notice on social media with the coordinates and and a picture of the intended area. They captioned that photo with, “40.75919° N, 73.98509° W, next to the steps. Right here don’t crowd the spot until 8:55pm.”

The group managed to quickly get set up and run through roughly one and a half songs before the police came and forcibly shut down the performance. In the below footage, police can be seen making their way up to the band, taking away their microphone, drumsticks, and even apparently toppling amplifiers.

Notably, comedian Ian Fiddance was also spotted taking in the impromptu set. Alternative Press note that police also confiscated the band’s equipment after putting a stop to the set. In the below clip, you can see the responding officers hauling away amplifiers.

It is unclear if the band themselves face legal action over the shoot.
