A GoFundMe has been launched online for the family of late ex-CDC frontman Gordon “Kaelin” McIntyre, who passed away last week in a motorcycle accident. That following was said of this campaign, which is available through GoFundMe, and aims to raise $100,000 USD.
“It’s rare to meet someone who has never met a stranger and can make an entire room light up, but Kaelin McIntyre was one of those people. On September 9th, around 5:40 PM in King of Prussia, he was doing what he loved most and was out riding his Harley-Davidson. He tragically was hit by a car making a left-hand turn. He didn’t survive his injuries.
If there’s one thing anyone knows about Kaelin, it’s how much he loved his mother, Denise, or “Kaelsma.” He was her only child, and she was a single mom. They vacationed together multiple times a year, were joined at the hip, and were best friends.
Kaelin and his mom had split bills, and while there aren’t many leftover large bills or funeral service expenses, we would all love to give Denise some cushion, financial freedom, and the ability to grieve however she needs to. As she said to me, Kaelin was her home. We want her to be set up for success and comfort down the line.
Edit: GoFundMe is having me explain my connection to Denise and Kaelin, and I was trying to not make this about me. Kaelin was the best friend and partner I could’ve ever asked for. We first met in 2019, but didn’t become close until 2021 when we attempted to try dating for the first time. In his words, “it’d be cool to revisit this in the future.” Summer 2025, we started referring to each other as out partners due to natural progression.
I first met Denise this winter when I was hunkered down at his house while my rabbit Bentley was getting surgery, and a few times after that when I’d stay over the nights before he’d leave for tour and she was driving him to the airport the next morning. She wasn’t ready for funds to be transferred yet, but we just set up her a beneficiary today (9/14). The funds are directly wired to her and are purely for her.
If you loved Kaelin, you’d know the #1 thing he would want is for us all to look after Kaelsma. That’s what this GoFundMe is for.
All proceeds will go to Denise.
There will be no formal funeral service, but we will be having a celebration of life at Gaul in Port Richmond on September 27th (please look for updates on that).
