Doom Mutual have been announced as the first signing to Hiss Recordings, a new singles-oriented label venture helmed by GRAMMY Award-winning producer Nick Raskulinecz (Deftones, Foo Fighters). Raskulinecz recently launched that label with his new solo track “Bonfire“, which found him collaborating with members of Korn and Big Wreck.
Shoegazers Doom Mutual are the first outside artist to sign with that label, with a two-song single having newly been released. That effort encompasses the tracks “Static Planet” and “Crowbar“. A music video for “Static Planet” has just been launched as well.
Doom Mutual said of that latter cut. “It’s about searching for connection in a world that feels distant and artificial. We wanted the music to feel like a blanket of sound — massive and overwhelming — like trying to find a signal through endless noise.”
7″ singles from artists Raskulinecz enjoys will be a primary focus for this new venture. Expectedly, Raskulinecz also produced and mixed these two Doom Mutual tracks. Raskulinecz told Revolver of signing that duo:
“They have a really cool sound that needs to be heard! I think people will really dig what they are about. Super creative, and they have a great sound that’s different from what’s happening now.”
