Alt-rock royalty The Smashing Pumpkins had a trio of guests join them onstage during their set at last night’s (July 31st) ‘Lollapalooza‘ festival in Chicago, IL. Rising alternative rocker YUNGBLUD was the first to take the stage with the band, guesting on the “Siamese Dream” cut “Luna“.
Deeper into the set, pop rocker Olivia Rodrigo joined in for a performance of “Thirty-Three” from the diamond-certified “Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness“. The band ultimately capped off their show with a guest appearance from ex-Hole bassist Melissa Auf der Maur on the “Machina/The Machines Of God” cut “The Everlasting Gaze“. She also guested with the band on that track earlier this week during a set at the Riviera Theatre.
Last night’s performance was livestreamed across Hulu and Disney+, with both pro-shot and fan-filmed footage of it having since surfaced on YouTube.
