Nü-metal vets Drowning Pool and Saliva will be launching a co-headlining tour this fall celebrating the 25th anniversaries of their respective 2001 hit albums, “Sinner” and “Every Six Seconds“. Both of those records attained platinum-status in the United States.
Saliva‘s decision to tour on the anniversary of this album will likely generate controversy, given that none of the members currently involved with the group actually played on that album. Vocalist Bobby Amaru is currently the most tenured member of that band, having joined in 2011.
Saliva‘s original guitarist/vocalist Wayne Swinny had served as the backbone of that group up until his 2023 passing. The decision to continue on with that band without him has led to a bitter feud with Saliva‘s classic era vocalist Josey Scott. Last year Scott described the current incarnation of the band as “the Temu version of Saliva“, and later issued diss tracks aimed at Amaru.
Addressing that elephant in the room regarding this album playthrough now, Amaru stated:
“I joined Saliva in 2011, when it had already been out for a decade, but that’s exactly what makes this anniversary so special. Great music has a life far beyond the people who create it. It belongs to the fans who have kept these songs alive for 25 years. Getting to celebrate this anniversary alongside Drowning Pool and two of the defining rock records from 2001 is something I don’t take for granted. I know Wayne Swinny and Dave Williams would be proud to see these songs still bringing people together all these years later.
I know some people will always have opinions about who should be on stage. I respect that. But this tour isn’t about reliving the past or cashing in on nostalgia. It’s about honoring the music and giving the fans a chance to celebrate two great records. Twenty-five years later, that’s what this is about, not the members, but the music. And as long as people keep showing up and singing every word, we’ll keep doing everything we can to honor that legacy.”
Drowning Pool themselves have undergone numerous vocal changes since the passing of their vocalist Dave Williams in 2002, with Ryan McCombs once again inhabiting the role. Their guitarist/vocalist C.J. Pierce said of this upcoming run:

Drowning Pool issued a 25th anniversary pressing of “Sinner” this past June and will have a limited amount of vinyl copies of that edition available on the road with them during this trek. Saliva meanwhile have an August 14th release date in place for their new studio album “Breaking Through“.
