Experimental melodic metalcore outfit vianova have been hit with a series of setbacks that have left the band with no choice but to play live with drum backing tracks tonight, June 09th, in Hamburg, Germany. First their drummer Paul Vogelgesang was sidelined by hernia surgery. Then his live fill-in, Nick Oberhäuser (Masuria, Illfunction), has also taken ill, requiring hospitalization. A statement issued by the band on social media today outlining the situation read as follows:

“Hey Hamburg,

we had some real bad luck yesterday. Unfortunately Paul could not make the show, because he is getting surgery for his hernia. A fill in drummer was supposed to help out, however he also got hospitalized yesterday because he got really ill.

We will still play the show tonight with the support of our good buddy DrumGPT aka our laptop. Hope you guys understand and still give us the same energy as a 3-piece”
