The ‘C.Y. Fest‘ has found itself under fire, with artists dropping off and growing public backlash in the wake of multiple allegations of sexual misconduct/sexual assault being lodged against the festival’s promoter and creator, Ignacio “Nacho Corrupted” Rodriguera. In a newly issued statement, Rodriguera has revealed he is stepping away from the festival to legally address the matter, while also claiming that the allegations against him are “false” and “misinformation”.
Speaking yesterday, March 17th, on the matter via social media, Rodriguera commented:
“The C.Y. festival has recently faced significant challenges due to false allegations and misinformation. I am stepping away to focus entirely on addressing these matters through the proper legal channels. My priority is ensuring that the community can still come together and have a great weekend without distractions. I’m announcing that the venues and their staff, along with an outside promoter will be stepping in to run the festival/shows. I have full confidence that their team will deliver the experience you all deserve.

Newly stepping in to helm the festival is Tankcrimes owner Scotty Heath. In a video statement announcing his new role as the promoter for the event, Heath commented that the allegations against Rodriguera have become a legal matter and he is not at liberty to comment about them. Heath further noted that he was not acquainted with Rodriguera prior and cold-called him with the proposition for him to step down from the fest in a last-ditch effort to save it.
This year’s ‘fest ‘C.Y. Fest‘ will be held at The Belasco in Los Angeles, CA on March 28th with Subhumans, Eyehategod, Pig Destroyer, Ghoul and many more among the bands that were initially announced for the event.
Update: March 18th, 2026 12:37pm:
Tankcrimes owner Scotty Heath has now bowed out of running the ‘C.Y. Fest‘, just over a day after agreeing to shepherd the festival. In a newly posted video shared this afternoon, Heath revealed that the venue will now be overseeing the festival. In this latest post, he stated [transcribed by theprp.com]:
“Hey guys, Scotty here. I made a video yesterday about how I had called the promoter of ‘C.Y. Fest‘ and asked him to step down and that I was going to take the reins of the fest. I wanted to save the fest and make it a fun and safe weekend for everybody involved, all my friends who are in the bands, and also all the fans who have non-refundable tickets. And I thought I could pull it off.
And there’s just too many questions came in from you guys that I don’t have the answers for, so I just felt like I was in over my head. I really… I did make a solid attempt, but I think I rushed the announcement. It was less than 30 hours after I’d done it, and everything happened pretty spontaneously, and I was just trying to get out there so quick, because the fest is coming up so soon, so I have bowed out of that, and I’ve the venues are still running the fest.
They have very competent staff and in-house people that will be doing that. But because there’s so many unanswered questions that I don’t have the answers for. I can’t do it.
And I’m sorry if I let you down, if you gave me positive messages, and I’m sorry if you had questions that I couldn’t answer, because I can’t, and for that reason, I’m going to bow out. Thank you for your understanding. Okay, I love you guys very much. Peace.”
