Mudvayne vocalist Chad Gray has announced a special live show celebrating ‘30 Years Of Madness‘. That concert will find him diving into his back catalogue for a set consisting of tracks from both Mudvayne and HELLYEAH. He’ll be backed onstage by HELLYEAH guitarist Christian Brady and Mudvayne touring guitarist Marcus Rafferty during the set, which he says will also feature a ‘storyteller vibe.’ Kami Kehoe will open that April 24th show at the Backstage Bar & Billiards in Las Vegas, NV.
While a one-off show for now, Gray is open to the possibility of future shows. Gray made the announcement for the event via Rock Feed below, while tickets for the concert can be found at dice.fm. Speaking on social media today, January 23rd, Gray also revealed that Mudvayne intend to take much of 2026 off. He said of the matter:
“In this past week since I posted the teaser for this I’ve heard it called Hellvayne, Mudyeah, but I call it keep my ass off the couch this year and have a first time hang with all of my oxygen wasting hellions!
Mudvayne is taking a break for 2026 but I just can’t do that. Music, creating, playing are the wells that I draw my happiness from so I need to keep going. As of right this second this will be one show on the 24th of April in Las Vegas at backstage @backstagebarlv @fremontcountryclublv in downtown LV. and we will just have to see what happens from there.
But I tell ya what…this is gonna be FUUUUN. Mudvayne and Hellyeah songs from the same stage, the same night, at the same time. I’m sure there will be some story telling too. I know many people will be coming in for the fucking amazing “Sick New World” festival so if you’re bored the night before come on by and hang out with us! Come early and check out @kamikehoe! Excited for her to open this thing and so excited to see you all! Until then stay safe, happy, healthy and METAL AF! -M.C”
Speaking further with Rock Feed about hitting the stage in a solo fashion, he stated [transcribed by theprp.com]:
“I’m nervous about it. This is I’m sure what you know Phil Collins [felt] when he broke away from Genesis and did his own thing, or Tom Petty… you know what I mean? Like Ozzy. Ozzy was a band guy. He was in Sabbath, he did a solo career. And hi, you know it’s Ozzy. I’m not saying I want to chase this whole solo career thing or anything like that you know? I’m always here. It’s just this is a nice buffer for this break that’s apparently taking place with Mudvayne.
This just gives me something to do. And you know, I’m not only just playing the shows, but I want to create. I feel like that’s what I was put on this earth to do was create. And that’s where I’m happiest, you know? That’s where I’m happiest. And so I think I’m just kind of doing this for me and I’m doing it for the fans.”
