Primer 55 have dropped off of their planned South American run with Ill Niño and (hed)p.e. this April/May. Ill Niño will be celebrating 25 years of their debut album “Revolution Revolución” on that trek. A statement shared yesterday, January 04th, by the reunited nü-metal outfit regarding the matter read as follows:
“DUE TO UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND OUR CONTROL PRIMER 55 WILL NOT BE ABLE TO JOIN OUR FRIENDS IN ILL NINO AND HED FOR THE UPCOMING SOUTH AMERICAN SHOWS SUMMER. WE APOLOGIZE AND WE HOPE TO YOU ALL SOON.
–PRIMER 55“
Primer 55 went on to add, “This decision is unrelated to the promoters or bands.” In light of the scheduling change, the band plan to instead use that time to focus on writing and recording new music — their first in nearly two decades. Dates for the tour mentioned above run as follows:
04/24 Lima, PER – Yield Rock
04/26 Santiago, CHL – Teato Cariola
04/28 Buenos Aires, ARG – Arena Sur
04/30 Curitiba, BRA – Tork N Roll
05/01 Sao Paulo, BRA – Audio
05/02 Rio de Janeiro, BRA – Sacadura
05/03 Belo Horizonte, BRA – Mister Rock
