A deluxe 30th anniversary box set of Alice In Chains‘ 1995 self-titled studio album has now been unveiled. It features pop-up gatefold packaging, three 7″ singles for the album’s original run of singles “Grind, “Again” & “Heaven Beside You“, 12 tarot cards, 10 custom art prints, a hardcover comic book, a 3D ballerina and zoetrope coin, a copy of the album on cassette, 2 double-sided 24×24” posters and more. The set is limited to 3,000 copies worldwide and pre-orders are available now via shop.aliceinchains.com.
Various additional merch items celebrating the grunge legends’ aforementioned final album with the late Layne Staley have also been revealed, with several shirt designs, a hoodie, a ‘tripod’ dog collar and a limited edition skateboard deck made in partnership with Welcome Skateboards all up for grabs. A less elaborate pressing of the record on standard purple and yellow swirl vinyl is also available through the band’s above-mentioned webstore.
A separate color variant of the album on translucent highlighter yellow with black and white splatter was released through select retailers last night. A January 30th release date on Legacy Recordings is expected for these vinyl pressings. Outside of these new merch offerings, Alice In Chains expect to host a retrospective series of posts on their social media across the next two weeks reflecting on the 2x multi-platinum album.
