Trust Records have issued a new documentary titled ‘Intense Energy: The Sound Of Skateboarding“, which was directed by Coan Buddy Nichols. Filmed in partnership with Vans, the 22-minute documentary, “explores the intersections of skateboarding and underground music, where it started and how it evolved into what it is today.’
Interviews with skateboard legends like Steve Olson, Tony Alva and Steve Caballero are featured, along with insights from skating stars from the 90s and modern times. On the musical side, the likes of Rage Against The Machine vocalist Zack de la Rocha, Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament, Ian MacKaye (Fugazi, Minor Threat, etc.) and Exene Cervenka of X are among some of those to have taken part.
A free screening of the documentary will be staged Friday, November 21st at the Vans Skate Space in Brooklyn, NY. You can RSVP at Eventbrite.
