Cave In/Mutoid Man, etc. vocalist/guitarist Stephen Brodsky has announced a Halloween (October 31st) release date for his upcoming acoustic collection of 90s hardcore, etc. songs, “Cut To The Core Vol. 1“. Brodsky began sharing that series of stripped down covers on his social media earlier this year. Interestingly, not every cover he released via that series thus far will make it on this first volume. Here’s what made the ahem cut for this initial entry:

– “Windows” (Snapcase cover)
– “Fall On Proverb” (Unbroken cover)
– “Farewell Note To This City” (Converge cover)
– “Midas” (Threadbare cover)
– “Benchwarmer” (Lincoln cover)
– “Two Snowflakes” (Into Another cover)
– “Nickel Wound” (Texas Is The Reason cover)
– “Fissures” (By The Grace Of God cover)
– “Sometimes” (Still Life cover)
– “The Game” (Shotmaker cover)
– “Voice” (Sense Field cover)

Pre-orders are available now via Bandcamp. You can also delve into this archive of the various acoustic performances he did of a number of these tracks earlier in the year. As previously reported, he plans to play a series of shows celebrating the release of this set, with the first date booked for November 01st at the YMCA Of The North Shore in Rowley, MA.
