Ripped To Shreds have taken a stand against death metal outfit Master, citing a recent festival Master performed at. That show is thought to be the ‘Metal Threat‘ festival in Chicago, IL, which took place last weekend. That festival was plagued with dozens of bands dropping off in light of various visa and scheduling issues, among other concerns.

The festival was also derided for hosting several bands associated with the NSBM scene, as well as Inquisition, who have a disturbing past. Ripped To Shreds publicly took issue however with Master playing that festival given the booking of Arghoslent. For clarity, Arghoslent were booked during the Friday, October 03rd date, while Master performed on October 05th stop of the fest.

Ripped To Shreds were set to perform with Master later this week and 924 Gilman St. in Berkeley, CA, however that show has been canceled in light of Master‘s recent actions, including playing that show and their associations with Metal Threat. Ripped To Shreds also opted to leave their booking agency, Heavy Talent as well.

Ripped To Shreds stated on social media today, October 06th:

“refusing to play with a neonazi band like arghoslent that glorifies the black slave trade is the lowest possible bar and master still failed it, so we’re withdrawing from friday’s show at @924gilmanstreet support to @bitterendbooking for doing the right thing and canceling the show. we’re still leaving heavy talent, but i would like to clarify that heavy talent only reps sinister, the sinister and master tour was booked as a package, and master booked their show with metal threat directly through paul dunski and not through heavy talent”

Ripped To Shreds vocalist/guitarist, etc. Andrew Lee also recently spoke up about heavy metal’ and’s issues with white supremacy in a recent video that touched upon the ‘Metal Threat‘ controversy as well. You can watch that below:
