Alternative metal trailblazers Deftones had Sarah Barthel of Phantogram join them onstage during their show last night, September 07th, at the Centre Vidéotron in Quebec City, QC. The latter dream pop outfit served as direct support on the first leg of Deftones‘ recently launched summer/fall U.S. headlining tour.
Barthel came out for the “Saturday Night Wrist” track “Cherry Waves“. While not a single from that 2006 album, that song has since found its audience amid the Deftones‘ TikTok renaissance, going platinum this past July. Fan-filmed footage of this live pairing can be seen below.
Last night’s show was the final date for Phantogram on that run, with British post-punkers IDLES taking over the direct support duties for the second leg of the run, while The Barbarians Of California remain onboard as the opening act.
