More light has been shed on the roster of artists for the upcoming pair of tribute albums to industrial metal legends Nine Inch Nails. Magnetic Eye Records have been overseeing those two honorary releases under the banner of their surprisingly prolific ‘Redux’ series.
One of those efforts will focus solely on covers of songs from Nine Inch Nails 4x platinum 1994 album “The Downward Spiral“. A second compilation will feature new renditions of various fan favorites from the esteemed band’s catalog.
Newly revealed participants include North Carolinian progressive metal outfit Between The Buried And Me, who have covered “The Downward Spiral” album closer “Hurt“. While Nine Inch Nails‘ original studio version of that song remains a classic of its era, a 2002 cover done by the late country music icon Johnny Cash introduced the song to a whole new audience altogether.
Another new reveal for the tribute efforts are German post-metal collective The Ocean, who have tackled “The Fragile” cut, “Even Deeper“. Read on for even more newly announced contributors and the current running tally of reveals made thus far:
