Drummer Mike “Puffy” Bordin has paid tribute to his fallen friend and bandmate Ozzy Osbourne. The Faith No More percussionist served behind the kit for Osbourne from 1995 through to 2010, and reflected on the late heavy metal icon, who passed away yesterday, July 22nd at the age of 76, as follows:
“It’s hard to put into words the impact this Man has had on my life, career, and family. Grateful from the bottom of my heart for every single moment along the way. Proud to have played even a small part in the monumental story. Rest In Peace to The Big Boss, we love you so very much. Thank you for what you gave us, which is everything you had.
My love and condolences to All of The Family.mike bordin, Ozzy Band 1995-2010″
Another staple in Ozzy‘s solo career, bassist Mike Inez (of Alice In Chains,) has also offered his thoughts on the sad news:
“Thank you Ozzy. I loved every second I spent with you since 1990. We sure laughed about a lot of things. I’ll never not miss you. Glad we got to make some noise together one last time. Thank you for a wonderful life. #ozzyosbourne”
Keyboardist Adam Wakeman (Black Sabbath, etc.), who played the solo portion of Ozzy‘s July 05th farewell show alongside Inez, guitarist Zakk Wylde and drummer Tommy Clufetos, took to social media as well, sharing the following on losing the heavy metal godfather:
“Thank you for everything you have done for me, my family, my career, my musicianship, my love for music, for all the love & laughter on the many tours around the World.
There are men, and there are great men…and then above them all, there’s @ozzyosbourne
Love and the highest respect to Ozzy and the entire Osbourne family x”
Wylde‘s statement on Osbourne‘s passing was shared yesterday.
