Kneecap Slam Disturbed's David Draiman On Social Media For Artillery Shell Signing, Draiman Fires Back

Controversial Irish hip-hop trio Kneecap have fired back at Disturbed‘s David Draiman on social media in light of comments he made about them yesterday, July 12th on X. To catch you up, in an interview with The Strombo Show published earlier this month, Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello praised Kneecap, proclaiming the outfit, “the Rage Against The Machine of now.” Morello said of the trio:

“[They’re at] at the top of the list, at the top of the list. I mean, they’re clearly the Rage Against The Machine of now, like there’s them, and there’s a gap to the next one.”

He continued:

“What they’re doing in their art is what people could probably stand to do more in their lives: to really speak truth to power. And, you know, Kneecap are not terrorists. What is terroristic is, you know, 20,000 dead Palestinian children. That’s the story. Not, I mean, some Irish rappers who don’t like that that’s happening. [That] should not be the story.”

Morello‘s praise for Kneecap didn’t sit well with Draiman, as Kneecap have become increasingly controversial for their public condemnation of Israel in light of the mounting civilian death toll in the ongoing Gaza war being waged by Israel and Hamas. A November 2024 live performance saw Kneecap‘s Mo Chara charged with a terror-related offense in the UK after being accused of brandishing a Hezbollah flag onstage.

Kneecap also used their time onstage at this year’s ‘Coachella‘ festival to accuse Israel of committing genocide in Gaza against the Palestinian people. The band displayed their beliefs in regards to that across the screens behind them on the stage, generating much controversy in the process. Draiman actually took aim at the outfit this past April over the latter incident, stating at the time:

Draiman has been a staunch advocate for Israel in the ongoing conflict and spent time with the Israel Defense Forces last year, where he infamously signed an artillery shell with an expletive-laden message aimed at Hamas. That gesture from Draiman has remained divisive, with detractors of the vocalist frequently taking issue with the civilian casualty rates from Israel’s artillery strikes in Gaza, while also accusing him of warmongering.

Yesterday, July 12th, Draiman vented on Morello‘s above-mentioned endorsement of Kneecap, stating:

“Shameful. Truly.

Wish I could say I was shocked.

Guess my family doesn’t count, when it comes to my “friend’s” virtue signaling for those who support terror, and incite Jew hatred.”

Kneecap responded in kind this morning, offering:

“We don’t care what religion anyone is…or if they’ve one at all.

We love all sound cunts.

Smiling and signing bombs dropped to murder kids and other people’s families just makes you a straight up cunt.

Simple as.

Free Palestine”

Draiman went on to respond directly to Kneecap across a series of posts, stating the following:

“Here’s the thing, and I’ll speak to you in small words, so you understand.

That shell was meant for HAMAS. You know, the organization who has sworn to murder all Jews, not just Israelis, time and time again, including my family.

You shoot at Jews? Expect Jews to shoot back.

All innocent lives lost in this conflict are due to Hamas using their own people as cannon fodder so that they can gain the sympathy of those who are only too eager to jump on the Jew hating train. If the hostages were released and Hamas surrendered, the bloodshed would end…

But neither you, nor Hamas really want that. Because without dead martyred Palestinians to fuel your zeitgeist, both you and them lose power.
