Nick Hexum, vocalist/guitarist, etc. for multi-platinum rap-rockers 311, recently took some city property maintenance into his own hands. Citing a dangerous intersection at Mulholland Hwy and Old Topanga Canyon Road in Calabasas, CA that had its visibility hampered by overgrown vegetation for some time, Hexum opted to handle the matter himself, rather than filing a complaint and potentially waiting for the city to eventually handle it.
He documented the process below, including showing off the before and after of his handiwork. Hexum said he was inspired to resolve the matter himself after being inspired by his daughter’s good deeds via Girl Scouts. The irony of this situation is in numerous cities and states, including Los Angeles, calling #311 refers one to the city services department for property and road maintenance and other services of the like
