Cold Slither, the fictional metal band spawned from a 1985 episode of the ‘G.I Joe: A Real American Hero‘ animated series have launched another new single online. In celebration of that episode turning 40, the band, comprised in the G.I. Joe universe of the nefarious Zartan and his gang of mercenaries the Dreadnoks, have been brought to life for a debut album, which features production work from Gus Ríos (Gruesome, ex-Malevolent Creation). The below song “Knock ‘Em Dread” marks their second contribution to make it out into the real world.
Unlike the episode that spawned the band however, it would appear this song does not feature subliminal messages implanted to corrupt the youth into doing Cobra‘s bidding.
Other ventures tied into the Cold Slither resurgence include a limited action figure set at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con and more, as well as a one-shot comic and several other planned activities. Costin Chioreanu crafted the below animated video for the track.
