Aussie post-grunge outfit Silverchair intend to host a special event next week celebrating the 30th anniversary of their 2x platinum debut album “Frogstomp“. Recorded when they were teenagers, that effort rapidly propelled the band to mainstream success. This anniversary event will be held at the Metro Social in Sydney, Australia on March 26th, however, it will take place without the band’s estranged vocalist/guitarist Daniel Johns.
Drummer Ben Gillies & bassist Chris Joannou will however be attending the event, engaging in a Q&A moderated by Richard Kingsmill. The band’s former manager John Watson, and John O’Donnell, the A&R who originally signed the band, are also expected to attend.
The Buoys will reportedly be covering some “Frogstomp” tracks during the celebration, while limited edition vinyl and numbered photographs will also be available.
