If you were paying close attention during this morning’s massive Black Sabbath reunion show announcement, you may have noticed the latest addition to the roster of platinum-certified Swedish metal band Ghost.
As has been tradition, the end of each album’s touring cycles for the theatrically-inclined band finds their vocalist (Tobias Forge) being ‘retired’, usually in dramatic onstage fashion. That isn’t always the case however, as recent cycles have seen Cardinal Copia elevate through the ranks, with the clergy ultimately naming him Papa Emeritus IV.
Given that October 2023 saw that latest incarnation of the band’s frontman announce his farewell, this latest refresh was wholly expected.
Per the below admat, it seems Forge will take to fronting Ghost‘s upcoming sixth studio album under the name of Papa V Perpetua. Thus far the band’s camp have remained relatively quiet on the matter, sharing the below tease:
Ghost will be hitting the road this spring for a lengthy trek, which will controversially be a ‘phone-free experience’.
