Back in 2000, various rap, metal and rock stars collided on the compilation album “Loud Rocks“. Serving almost as a spiritual successor to the ambitious rap-rock pairing of the ‘Judgment Night‘ soundtrack some 7 years prior, this Loud Records-backed endeavor instead injected metal and rock overtones into various hit rap tracks, rather than coming up with all-new compositions.

Notable luminaries from the worlds of nü-metal, metal, hardcore and more were recruited to make that album a reality, including metal pioneers Ozzy Osbourne & Tony Iommi. Rage Against The Machine‘s Tom Morello and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith also took part, as did then rising stars in System Of A Down, Incubus, Sevendust and more.

Singles from numerous artists signed to the Loud Records roster served as the bedrock for the release, including cuts from Wu-Tang Clan, Mobb Deep, Big Pun, Xzibit and more.

Among the tracks featured on that effort was a remake of Tha Alkaholiks‘ 1993 single, “Make Room“. Members of multi-platinum nü-metal turned alternative rock outfit Sugar Ray teamed with the rap trio to pull of that featured rock remix of the track.

Now, some 24 years later, Tha Alkaholiks have re-recorded that rock remake with Spookybands in place of Sugar Ray. You can hear that updated version below:
