Brittany Howard, known for her work in GRAMMY Award-winning blues rockers Alabama Shakes, as well as her solo output and more, is apparently delving into the world of hardcore with a new venture dubbed Kumite. That band will be making their live debut at the Basement East on January 12th as part of a benefit show. Snooper, Inner Peace & Second Spirit will be opening that event. Brittany recently said of the live reveal on social media:
“Nashville! Mark your calendars and plan to be at @thebasementeast on January 12th. I am bringing you a night of HARDCORE music featuring the incredible @snooper_7, @innerpeaceforever, & @secondspirithxc as well as the debut performance of my hardcore project KUMITE. All proceeds from the show will go to these wonderful local organizations @2harvestmidtn, @nashvillelaunchpad, & @southernmovementco. Stoked to share how y’all can get involved with one or more of these organizations that are helping our local community. And remember, it’s hardcore as f*ck to community organize!”
Tickets for the event are now available.
