Scour‘s new album “Gold” is headed for a February 21st release. The Phil Anselmo (Pantera, Down, etc.) fronted supergroup, who also feature members of Misery Index, Pig Destroyer, etc. fame, will be issuing that third opus in their catalog via Housecore Records/Nuclear Blast. The black metallers have laid down 13 tracks for that effort, with “Infusorium” having just landed as the lead single. A music video for it was shot and directed by Malcolm Pugh and is available below.

Guitarist Derek Engemann commented:

Scour is storming back onto the scene with our new single, ‘Infusorium,’ a relentless blend of intricate guitar work and raw, unforgiving intensity. This track raises the bar, with more intricate guitar work, and featuring a searing solo by Mark Kloeppel, undoubtedly some of his finest work that cuts straight to the core.

Inspired by Jon Padgett’s haunting short novel, Infusorium, the lyrics channel the story’s eerie depth and darkness, bringing a literary edge to the metal mayhem. As the lead single and first music video from our upcoming full-length album, ‘Gold‘, ‘Infusorium’ proves the Scour is fiercer and more dynamic. The Scour boys are back, more ripping than ever!”

Recording sessions for the effort took place at Anselmo‘s own Nodferatu’s Lair and backstage across various venues on Pantera‘s February touring. Dennis Israel assumed the mix, while Jens Bogren took on the mastering duties.
