Dany Lambesis, wife of As I Lay Dying vocalist Tim Lambesis, has issued a new statement regarding the allegations of Tim assaulting her that have been circulating online this week. Those rumors picked up traction online via Reddit in the past day or two, with some theorizing that was the cause of the group’s latest implosion that has played out this week.
Dany stated today, October 24th, via her social media:
“I am writing this statement to address the recent rumors circulating on social media regarding my husband, Tim Lambesis, and the allegations of domestic violence. It has come to my attention that false claims have been made, suggesting that my husband has harmed me.
I want to make it unequivocally clear that these allegations are completely false. My husband has never caused harm to me in this manner, and I am deeply saddened by the unfounded rumors that have emerged during this challenging time for his band. There has never been an incident that warrants such accusations. We have had our relationship issues like many other couples, but nothing to the degree of domestic violence or what is being portrayed online.
It deeply saddens me that I find myself in a position where I must publicly explain my personal life and relationship because of flat out lies. It is completely unjust that everything spread the way it did and nobody even considered my voice to be heard through it all. This is unfair to both Tim and I and our relationship.
It is disheartening to witness how quickly misinformation can spread and the impact it can have on individuals and families. I ask that you respect our privacy during this time and refrain from perpetuating these harmful rumors any further.”
Over the past several days, three members of As I Lay Dying have exited the band, with bassist/vocalist Ryan Neff leaving last weekend, and guitarist Ken Susi and drummer Nick Pierce both quitting as of today.
Guitarist Phil Sgrosso has indicated that he will making a statement in the near future regarding, “the current AILD situation.” This week also saw the San Diego, CA metalcore band’s European touring plans that were booked for this fall spiked amid the wave of departures from the roster.
Thus far neither the group themselves nor Tim have addressed the matter, or this most recent exodus of band members. Dany is Tim‘s third wife, with the couple having tied the knot back in June of 2022. She has previously joined him in Austrian Death Machine.
Tim infamously was sentenced to several years in prison back in 2013 after attempting to hire a hitman to murder his first wife. He pled guilty of a charge of solicitation of another to commit murder and was sentenced to 9 years, before being paroled in December of 2016
In 2022 he reflected on his frame of mind around his actions in 2013, offering in part, “I lost myself, I lost my way“. Since being released Lambesis has married twice and has undertaken the training and necessary to become an addiction treatment counselor.
