Latin-influenced nü-metal band Ill Niño recently kicked off the European/UK leg of their ‘25 Years Of Latin Metal Tour‘. Days ahead of that run, the group announced that vocalist Marcos Leal would not be present on that run, with Tommy Vext (ex-Bad Wolves, etc.) instead fronting the group.
It still remains unclear as to why Leal didn’t partake in that tour. Last week Leal shared a message on his social media indicating that he was going to release a statement, however, he later deleted that post.
Outside of the above, it’s still been a bit of a chaotic year for Ill Niño and their fans. The group also recently missed the rescheduled release dates for their “IllMortals” EPs. That two-volume set was originally slated to be released individually on June 28th and July 26th.
However, after missing those release dates, it was announced that they would then arrive on July 26th and August 09th. “Production issues” were cited as the cause for the initial delay. The band does not appear to have commented on the latest round of missed release dates or when you can expect to hear these outings.
However, you can now check out some fan-filmed footage from the band’s aforementioned tour with Vext on vocals. Those shows have also featured a cover of The Cranberries‘ 1994 hit single “Zombie” in the setlist.
Vext found fame with his then band Bad Wolves‘ 2017 cover of that track, with that band’s version of it hitting 3x multi-platinum status back in June of 2023. The remaining dates for Ill Niño‘s aforementioned tour with Ektomorf and Mind Incision run as follows:
