As interest in Linkin Park once again reaches a fever pitch amid the band’s much rumored reunion plans, Halestorm vocalist Lzzy Hale has shared a piano cover of the gold-certified 2000 Linkin Park hit single “Crawling“. Hale‘s cover was shared via her social media yesterday, August 30th and is available below.
She posted her cover without commentary, just as Linkin Park are thought to be announcing their live return with an as-yet unannounced female singer taking the place of the late Chester Bennington.
As you’d expect, given the timing, many fans have begun to jump to conclusions on what this rendition could mean. Hale, who spent a stint this summer fronting Skid Row, is considered one of the most gifted of the current crop of female hard rock vocalists.
Earlier this week, Linkin Park concluded a 100-hour wait on a mysterious countdown timer. However, instead of making their highly anticipated reunion announcement when the clock struck 0, they instead introduced some glitchy animations to the timer, which was followed by the clock effectively starting over, this time counting upward. A subsequent glitchy animation in that ongoing climb hinted at the date of September 05th, with the group having since confirmed they are prepping for A Los Angeles event on that very date.
