Progressive metalcore band Within The Ruins have issued a music video for their song “Demon Killer“, pairing it with today’s (August 23rd) release of their new album, “Phenomena II“. That effort is a sequel to superhero-themed “Phenomena“, which came out back in July of 2014. As some may have put together, this track is based on the DC Comics character of ‘John Constantine‘.
Guitarist Joe Cocchi elaborated on that:
“It checked all of the boxes by utilizing this glitchy effect we started using on ‘Phenomena‘. ‘Demon Killer‘ is Constantine. He was born into a world that never appreciated him. Steve is breaking down his character by talking about his internal conflicts and how he’s fighting evil with evil.”
Vocalist Steve Tinnon added of the Alex Kouvatsos-directed clip:
“We absolutely love how this video turned out. The imagery and effects do incredible justice to the character of John Constantine, and really encapsulate his struggle between the forces of good and evil.”
