Pierce The Veil have notched up some new platinum & gold certifications in the United States. On the platinum front, the San Diego, CA post-hardcore band have earned 2x multi-platinum status for their 2012 single “King For A Day“. That song previously went platinum in October of 2019.
“A Match Into Water” has newly been certified both gold and platinum. Both songs are taken from the group’s gold-certified third studio album, “Collide With The Sky“. Rounding out this latest round of certifications is the second single from the aforementioned album, “Bulls In The Bronx“. That track has just gone gold, with the RIAA handling down all of these latest certifications on June 28th of this year.
A platinum album/single in the United States represents 1,000,000 units, while gold signifies 500,000 units. Outside of traditional physical/digital sales, the certifications factor in digital streams/downloads with 10 permanent track downloads counting as 1 unit and 1500 on-demand audio/video streams from a particular album also counting as as a unit.
