Eddie Sutton (aka Eddie Leeway), vocalist of influential NY crossover band Leeway, has passed away. Late last month Sutton entered hospice care after a valiant battle against lung cancer that included participating in a clinical trial to try to beat back the disease.
In a statement shared today, April 20th, word of Eddie‘s unfortunate passing yesterday, April 19th, was shared via the following statement:
“Edward Anthony Pomponio
Passed 4/19/24 peacefully in his sleep.
We would like to invite all his extended family to come say good bye to our son and brother.The wake will be held

Tributes from across the hardcore scene have been pouring in for Eddie on the below Instagram post, with Sick Of It All, Jorge “Hoya Roc” Guerra (ex-Madball), Toby Morse (H2O) and numerous others sharing tributes to the late musician.
