This year’s return of Power Trip will now hit both New York City and the band’s hometown of Dallas, TX. The crossover band first returned to the stage late last year for a surprise live reunion with Skourge/Fugitive vocalist Seth Gilmore filling in for the late Riley Gale.
While that set caused some friction with Gale‘s family, that incarnation of the band are set to move forward this year, having already been announced for a June 08th live set at the first-ever ‘No Values‘ festival in Pomona, CA on June 08th.
As it now stands, the group’s first official non-festival show back will now take place at The Factory in Deep Ellum in Dallas, TX on July 06th. Revealed in tandem with that show is an August 24th concert at the Knockdown Center in New York City, NY. Gilmore commented on the opportunity to front the band:
“I’m honored to have the opportunity to contribute to the legacy of Power Trip and deliver these songs to the fans of past and current generations. I would not be who I am today without the massive influence that both the band and its members have had on my life, and I look forward to celebrating their work alongside them while giving it my all to honor the spirit of Riley’s memory.”
The band added:
“It feels right playing our songs with Seth, who’s been a long time figure in Texas hardcore, and we’ve had the pleasure of watching and playing alongside his bands since the origins of Power Trip. We’re grateful for his dedication to this project and can’t wait to see everyone.”
Each of these newly announced shows are expected to feature, ‘a special lineup of old friends and more.’ Tickets will be up this Friday, March 01st at 11:00am EST.
