Legendary Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson has newly revealed the details for his next studio album, “The Mandrake Project“. A March 01st release date has been scheduled for that record, with its reveal preceded by a music video for the first single “Afterglow Of Ragnarok“. A comic series tied to the conceptual effort is being prepared by Z2 Comics and the first volume of that series will be published on January 17th.
Dickinson once again worked with producer Roy Z (Halford, Tribe Of Gypsies) on the album, which was mostly recorded at the Doom Room in Los Angeles, CA. The opus is centered around the protagonist Dr. Necropolis, with an official press release stating:
”The Mandrake Project‘ is not just an album, but a dark, adult story of power, abuse and a struggle for identity, set against the backdrop of scientific and occult genius.’
Dickinson has been crafting the album for numerous years, as evidenced by the ties the featured song “Eternity Has Failed” to the Iron Maiden‘s 2015 track “If Eternity Should Fail“.
