A music video for the latest single from alternative metal duo Islander was released online today, October 31st. Mikey Carvajal, who fronts the Greenville, SC outfit, commented of the inspiration for this song:
“‘Witch” is a song about a serial killer witch that deceives people to come near her with her beauty. It’s a metaphor for any type of addiction. The things that become our vices seem beautiful at first, but they only end up destroying us (our mental and physical health) in the end.
I know a title like ‘Witch‘ is perfect for Halloween…however, the song is actually much scarier when put into the perspective of addiction being a year round struggler than just a one month scare.”
