Having already taken a deep dive into the web 3.0 experience with their Deathbats Club, multi-platinum progressive metallers Avenged Sevenfold have now rolled the details on their latest venture: Ticketpass. Utilizing the power of the blockchain, the band are seeking create a more rewarding fan experience, ensuring early proper access to tickets via a loyalty rewards system of sorts.
To that end they will be implementing physical and digital tokens which will apply to their various merch offerings. These tokens will be logged to the fan’s Ticketpass, enabling them build up their loyalty tier by attending shows, purchasing merch, etc..
The group also plan to partner with Spotify and Ticketmaster via the program. Per the below explanation video from frontman M. Shadows, the overall vision is to ultimately reward the most loyal of the band’s fans initial access to tickets and such. A person who has logged multiple tokens on their Ticketpass would be ensured first access to tickets over those who do not.
As Shadows bluntly explained it, “the idea being that the fans that are participating the most, and are into the band currently, will be rewarded with the tickets earlier.” You can watch him explain how that will play out below.
He also noted that the program is considered to be in beta at present and will be implemented with the upcoming as-yet unannounced second leg of their North American tour. That leg will be announced this coming Tuesday, April 11th. Further details on the TicketPass can be found here.
