Marduk‘s touring woes continue with the band having recently been banned from entering the country of Guatemala by a congressional decree. Billboard.com report that the ban was passed yesterday, Wednesday, September 26th, with lawmakers voting 87 to 13 to block the band from entering the country.

Their issue with the group stems from Marduk‘s Satanic beliefs, which they found to be offensive to the country’s dominant Christian beliefs. Marduk were scheduled to perform in the country on October 11th. It’s not the first time the band have faced opposition however.

In February of 2017 their planned show in Oakland was cancelled amid allegations of the band possessing racist beliefs, while this past May their show in Poland was cancelled after the venue they were to perform at was sabotaged. The sabotage was thought to be result of an objection against the band for their satanic beliefs,  as the show faced considerable pressure from the the Polish conservative Christian political party PiS.

Meanwhile, reports filed earlier this year alleged that members of the band had purchased racist propaganda, though they denied the claims.
