Terror vocalist Scott Vogel recently checked in with the below update on New Year’s Eve in which he reveals that the band are currently without a label, having fulfilled all obligations of their last contract with Century Media.
“Nick and I went hiking this morning. It got me thinking about Terror , this past year and looking forward to 2016. Terror seems to be in a great place – as individuals and also us thinking and coming together as a group of friends and that’s really important to me. We had some great times and tours this year. Thanks to Nails , The Story So Far and all the other bands we shared the stage with.
We also released ” The Twenty Fifth Hour ” an album I really feel proud of from start to finish, musically and lyrically. It’s crazy to think we have 7 LP’s at this point , that’s pretty insane to me. 2015 also showed me that the endless Terror touring machine is human. I missed a whole tour in Europe and we cancelled the Life and Death tour here in the states. This was defiantly a bum out for me and I apologize to everyone for the shows I missed or we missed this year. The days when it was hard for me to walk was fucking terrible and also scary but hopefully that’s all in the past as we just finished the year off with a great run in the USA with Code Orange , Take Offense and Buffalo’s Malfunction and other cool bands on different dates.
It felt good to be back out on the road and on stage for sure. Looking ahead to the new year we have the Persistence tour first in Europe late January with Ignite ,H2o , Iron Reagan , Wisdom In Chains , Twitching Tongues and Risk It – what a fucking line up. We also have Mexico and Japan booked for March and are talking again to the Life and Death tour for the summer of 2016. This hasn’t been totally locked in but we would love to make up the tour this coming summer. Terror also has some cool fests we have confirmed on the East and West Coast in 2016 and also hope to make our way back to Costa Rica , South America and Australia sooner then later !
Nick had also mentioned to me today he already wrote a few new songs that he thinks I’m going to love. This for sure gets me siked. Terror has now finally fulfilled all contracts with all record labels and the future is wide open for us. We signed a 4 record ” deal ” with Century Media I don’t know – 9 years ago or something like that, but we have delivered them all the records( CM licensed the last two to Victory in the USA ) and now we are free of all contracts. This is super exciting for us and opens up a lot of different options and ideas.
Anyways – tonight is New Year’s Eve. I hope everyone has some safe fun and takes some time to think about all the good in their lives , and maybe let go of some of the hate and stress most of us feel weighing us down. Life has a lot of bullshit it wants us to buy into. Music has a lot of nonsense we get caught up in , but there is also so much cool shit to do and explore in this beautiful world. Best wishes to everyone reading this and I’m hoping for a great 2016 for all of us.
