Mamiffer have set “The World Unseen” as the title to their new album. The group will release it through their own SIGE Records label in March. The group feature ex-Isis, etc. frontman Aaron Turner and his wife Faith Coloccia. The pair enlisted Eyvind Kang for string arrangements, while Geneviève Beaulieu (Menace Ruine) and Joe Preston (Thrones) guest on “Domestication Of The Ewe Pt. III“. Recording for it took place at AVAST! Studio in Seattle, WA with producer Randall Dunn. As for the concept of the effort itself, I’ll let the official press release spell it out:
“‘The World Unseen‘, is a conceptual and liminal document of numinous connection through an experience with loss. It is an exploration of subconscious and psychic bonds between the past and present, and the ways in which the musical devices of repetition and incantation create hands across the chasm that divide the human from the divine.”
