AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd pled guilty to one charge of threatening to kill as well as to possession of cannabis and methamphetamine charges today in a Tauranga District Court. Nzherald.co.nz report that an additional charge of threatening to kill was withdrawn by the police. He has been remanded on bail and will face sentencing on June 26th.
As it turns out the intended potential victim of Rudd was a former employee of his, whom Rudd was unhappy with after the launch of his solo album, “Head Job“, last August. Rudd was found to have called an associate in September of last year, allegedly attempting to hire the person to “take out” the victim of his ire.
It would appear that Rudd wasn’t exactly quiet in the matter himself either, repeatedly calling the potential victim and threatening his life, telling him he had planned to kill him. Upon his arrest Rudd was found to be in possession of various amounts of marijuana and a small amount of methamphetamine. For more details from today’s proceedings head here.
