Colepitz‘s “Washed In Red” has debuted online, roughly a month ahead of the group’s forthcoming new album “The Time Between“. The latter represents their full-length outing in sixteen years and has been scheduled for an October 23rd release on High River Records. Vocalist Rob Korhonen went on to say of the lengthy origins of this track:
“‘Washed In Red’s origin story is Boston in the early 2000’s. Mark Marenick and I co-wrote it and felt it never got its due. Ray and Shane took it apart and put it back together, heavier and meaner. It’s a straightforward horror song: a saw, the boiler room at 2 a.m. Every line darkly cuts two ways. The end of the world doesn’t always come for everyone at once. Sometimes it’s one house with the lights off.”
The Ray he speaks of is of course his bandmate Ray Suhy, who also plays with Six Feet Under. Shane Kinney handles the drums. Colepitz self-produced this effort, with mixing for it having been undertaken by Sky van Hoff (Sleep Token, Enslaved).
