Multi-platinum masked metal outfit Slipknot are back to business, following the recent ousting of their core member, DJ Sid Wilson. The group have just surprise dropped a music video for their brand new single “Arsenal“. The band’s percussionist M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan served as the director. That song represents their first work since welcoming ex-Sepultura drummer Eloy Casagrande in the fold.
It also serves as the start of another new era for the band. With their last effort “The End, So Far“, having completed their contractual obligations to longtime label home Roadrunner Records, the band have now launched a new label venture of their own. This track arrives through that endeavor, (sic)est Records, which is partnered with Roadrunner and Atlantic.
Earlier this week, a post shared online by the band’s guitarist Jim Root indicated that tracking is still underway for the band’s eighth studio album. Previous reports from the studio have indicated that Matt Wallace (Faith No More, Mushroomhead) is helming those sessions.
