Some accounting of System Of A Down‘s catalog has newly been completed by the RIAA, landing the Armenian-American nü-metal stars a new hoard of sales/streaming certifications tied to their landmark sophomore album “Toxicity“. On the album front, that effort has newly attained 7x platinum status in the U.S., having last been certified 6x platinum in July of 2022.

Further on the platinum front, the group have just earned their first-ever diamond single, with the “Toxicity” hit “Chop Suey!” having newly hit 10x platinum. It was last certified 5x platinum in July of 2022. The full extent of today’s (August 28th) wave of certifications for the band include:

Diamond:

Chop Suey!

7x platinum:

Toxicity” (album)

6x platinum:

Toxicity” (single)

4x platinum:

Aerials

Platinum:

Prison Song

Gold:

ATWA

*A platinum album/single in the United States represents 1,000,000 units, while gold signifies 500,000 units. Outside of traditional physical/digital sales, the certifications factor in digital streams/downloads with 10 permanent track downloads counting as 1 unit and 1500 on-demand audio/video streams from a particular album also counting as as a unit. 150 streams of a song also equate to a track-equivalent unit.
