Progressive Swedish metalcore band Imminence have now spilled the details about their forthcoming new album “Axis Mundi“. That effort has been slated for an October 02nd release date through the band’s latest label home of Sumerian Records. Its reveal follows the recent debut of two medieval-themed music videos for the songs “The Sword That Never Bends” and this week’s “False Light“.

Despite the latter track arriving online yesterday, July 21st, the band have also just issued another new single in “Crestfallen“. A press release said of this newest track:

“‘Crestfallen‘ reveals a more atmospheric and introspective side of the record. Built on hypnotic electronic textures and evolving production, the track unfolds through sweeping orchestration, immersive sound design, and a striking violin arrangement that adds cinematic depth throughout. Berg’s clean vocals glide across the mix with ease, delivering a fragile emotional core, while distorted undercurrents and submerged screams linger beneath the surface, adding weight without breaking its restraint.”

The band co-produced this new 11-song effort alongside Drew Fulk (Disturbed, Knocked Loose) ,with Henrik Udd (Bring Me The Horizon, Architects) assisting on engineering duties. Guitarist Harald Barrett said of the band’s vision for “Axis Mundi” and the decision to premiere two tracks from it back to back:

“Duality has always been at the heart of Imminence. Our musical expression is a conversation between darkness and light, violence and beauty, despair and hope. ‘False Light‘ and ‘Crestfallen‘ embody those opposing forces more clearly than anything we’ve released before. They’re radically different in sound and emotion, but together they tell a single story.

That’s why it felt important to present them side by side as we unveil ‘Axis Mundi‘. Our new album is not meant to be experienced from one perspective alone. It’s a journey through every extreme that defines what Imminence is, and these two songs are the perfect gateway into that world.”
