The Warning drummer/vocalist Paulina “Pau” Villarreal Vélez fainted mid-show On Wednesday (July 01st) at Skaters Palace in Münster, Germany. The incident took place 11 songs into the set during “DISCIPLE“. The band went on to take quick break and came back to perform a pair of songs acoustically, without Pau, before foregoing any potential encores. The Mexican sisterly alternative rock trio have since addressed the matter in a statement shared today, July 03rd, it reads:
“To our fans at Werchter Festival,
We were hopeful that Pau would be ready to perform today, but her illness was tougher than we expected and she needs more time to rest and recover before she can return to stage.
Unfortunately, we have to cancel today’s performance at Werchter Festival.
We’re so sorry to everyone who was planning to see us tonight. We were really looking forward to coming back to Belgium and play for you. Thank you for all the love, patience, and understanding you’ve shown us over the last days.
Veel liefs,
Dany, Pau and Ale“
Pau is said to have communicated during the set that she was under the weather, but was attempting to soldier on through the show. Fan-filmed footage of the incident can be found below. Pau has since commented on social media of the matter, stating, “sorry to the cut show short munster, i hope that you still had fun for the short amount of time that we were able to play – thank you for understanding – i shall rest a little bit now! danke!”
