Cavalera have been forced to scrap their planned set at the annual ‘Hellfest Open Air‘ in Clisson, France today, June 20th, after being involved in a nearly deadly bus crash. The band said in a statement on their social media:
“Cavalera regretfully are unable to perform today at ‘Hellfest‘ due to an unforeseen accident yesterday. We are very grateful for the driver’s skills at preventing what could have been a deadly bus crash. The band is devastated to not be able to bring Chaos AD to this great festival and to the French fans. We hope to be able to return with our Chaos in the future. X Max & Iggor“
Igor, son of the band’s frontman Max Cavalera, has since indicated on social media that while the group escaped the crash without serious injury, they have been derailed by mechanical issues as a result of the incident.
